Lake Geneva (or Lac Léman) is a crescent-shaped lake shared between France and Switzerland, and overlooked by the Alps. Pilatus, also often referred to as Mount Pilatus, is a mountain massif overlooking Lucerne in Central Switzerland. It is composed of several peaks, of which the highest (2,128.5 m (6,983 ft)) is named Tomlishorn.

pilatus was named after the Roman prefect Pontius Pilate whose dead body was discarded into a lake on top and it therefore is apparently haunted. And then of course, the realists are of the belief that the name is simply borrowed from the Latin term 'Pileatus' meaning 'cloud-capped'.
